Gropius House

Just back from a great trip in the Boston area combining history, nature, art and of course architecture… a highlight was visiting the house Gropius built for his family after emigrating to the US. Highly recommended together with the deCordova Sculpture Park nearby.

Gropius desk with all his papers, as he left it. Photos are of his daughter.
The house has all the original furnishings and art, gifts from his many friends (H. Moore, Miro) and students.

Our favorite room: a glass enclosed deck off the kitchen. Indoor-outdoor living adjusted for New England weather!
